The Festival of Nature @festofnature is fast approaching. Taking place from 6th to 14th June 2026, this is the UK’s largest free festival celebrating the natural world and it’s happening right here in Bath and Bristol. The festival’s overall theme this year is trees! Check out the events calendar here.
On Sunday, 7th June 2026 from 1:30pm to 4:00pm, the Friends of Hedgemead Park are supporting Lambridge & Walcot Community Nature Haven to host a Creative Community Picnic in leafy Hedgemead Park.
This will be a chance to come together and relax under the canopy of trees whilst having a go at something creative. Activities will include willow weaving, mindful drawing and collective poetry (with help from Caroline Harris, artist and poet @carolineyolande).
Bring your own picnic, and a picnic rug if you have one. Some refreshments will be available to share. All welcome, but children must be accompanied by a parent or carer. Just head for the grassy area below the park’s bandstand.
The event is free but please book your place so that we can keep track of numbers.
