Your Park Volunteer Awards
The Love Your Park Volunteer Awards event in Bristol on Saturday, 3rd February was very well attended and great fun. Held to celebrate the amazing work of hundreds of volunteers across Bristol and Bath, we heard wonderfully uplifting stories of people of all ages coming together to make a difference in their communities.
Awards were given in six categories for each of the two cities, plus one overall category called the ‘Community Choice Award’.
Given the sheer number of hugely deserving nominees, we were really chuffed to receive a Special Mention in the ‘B&NES Community Connectors Award’ category.
The citation that came with our Special Mention read:
“The Friends have, for years, done a marvellous job of making the park a loved space for people across the local community, an island of rest in the middle of a heavily urbanised setting. Their work is incredibly valuable.”
The B&NES Community Connector category winner was Friends of Henrietta Park, our chums over the other side of the river. Very well done to them!
The Community Choice Award, went to Redcatch Community Garden in Knowle, Bristol, who polled the most votes from their friends and supporters. So, huge congratulations to RCG.
