Christmas 2024 Greetings

The run up to Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a quick plug for our lovely Holm Oak merchandise. If you’re searching for the perfect gift or stocking filler, why not check out what’s on offer at www.hedgemead.org/merchandise. It’s a great way to keep alive the memory of the park’s majestic Holm Oak tree that sadly came down in 2021. Plus, all proceeds help the Friends continue their vital community work.
But more importantly, as we approach the end of another eventful year for Hedgemead Park, it’s time to thank the people who do so much to keep our park looking the best it can be.
First, we need to acknowledge the enormous contribution made by that the Council’s Parks Team, who do all the really hard work, often involving machinery. They’re the ones turning out, rain or shine, mowing grass, blowing leaves, strimming, hedge cutting and maintaining all the bigger shrubs and bushes.
Second, our award-winning volunteer gardeners, litter pickers and other helpers who work so hard to keep the park litter-free, weed-free, and dotted with colourful, nature-friendly plants. All our volunteers give their time very generously to support the Friends’ community objectives.
In short, this is a collective effort, from Council and Community, making Hedgemead Park the jewel that it is. We are all the richer for it.
So, on behalf of the Friends’ management committee, we extend our very best wishes to all for a happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year. See you in 2025!
