Gardening Schedule Spring/Summer 2022

Despite the unsettled weather, the Friends continue to make headway with keeping Hedgemead Park looking neat and tidy. Of course, our contribution is only part of the story; we play a supporting role to the main player – the Parks Department’s grounds team, who do all the mechanised work and much of the heavy maintenance.

Nevertheless, our work is valued by the community at large, and we regularly receive thanks from people who see us at work. It’s nice to be appreciated!

Our gardeners are a friendly and sociable bunch, having varying levels of gardening expertise. If you fancy a couple of hours of fresh air in a wonderful setting, why not join us for one or two sessions? It’s really uplifting and you’d be made to feel very welcome.

Here’s our schedule of dates for the Spring/Summer 2022. Assembling at the bandstand, all sessions are about 2 hours long starting at 10 am. If you’ve got your own gloves and a few tools, then please bring them. If not, we have some spare hand tools for you to use.
