Green Flag Award 2023-24

More good news from the world of awards. Hedgemead Park’s flagpole will soon carry a new pennant in recognition of its success in winning a Green Flag Award for 2023-24. This is the fifth year in a row the park has been recognised, so the Friends are very chuffed.

Many congratulations to the team at B&NES Parks who do so much to keep the park looking great, and to our own volunteer gardeners and litter pickers for all their hard work.

Hedgemead Park was one of seven parks and open spaces to have received an award. So, well done to the other six, especially to their respective friends’ groups for their tireless efforts. We’re very lucky here in Bath to have such wonderful green spaces to enjoy and committed communities to help look after them.

The Green Flag Award scheme is managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and sets the benchmark standard for the management of recreational outdoor spaces across the UK and around the world.
