A big thank you to the Council’s Parks Management for inviting Members of HPF’s volunteer gardening team to join them today on a walking tour to review the management plan for Hedgemead Park.
Now that HPF’s gardeners are working to a regular schedule of gardening dates, it makes sense for us to coordinate our efforts with those of the Park’s Grounds Team. With so many maintenance tasks presenting throughout the year in every area of the park, it is increasingly important to define, schedule and prioritise the work. This will enable both parties to work off a single plan.
The intent is that, between us, we cover all the important tasks throughout the changing seasons and avoid duplicating effort.
We also discussed HPF’s exciting Autumn initiative to create a new Bluebell meadow and woodland bed in the area below the park’s Victorian Battlement & Tower. This will be a very rewarding endeavour over several weeks so, if you fancy joining us for a session or two, please do get in touch. Our email address is: admin@hedgemead.org.
